Button Bunny Art

Button art is very popular. For one thing, it's something anyone can do. Secondly, there's no limit to what kind of art you can create. This bunny button art project is only one example.

This project was submitted by Mary from The Crafty Cubanita. You'll find plenty of other good craft ideas there as well.

Materials

  • buttons
  • flat back rhinestones (or similar jewel type pieces)
  • glue
  • 8" x 10" canvas (stretched or board)
  • 8" x 10" frame (optional)

Instructions

Draw a bunny outline on your canvas. You can trace any bunny picture you like or you can print out this bunny template.

NOTE: Depending on your printer, you might need to reduce the margin settings on your page setup in order to get the pattern to print on a single sheet of 8" x 10" paper.

Now that you have an outline of the bunny on your canvas, you can start positioning all the buttons.

TIP: If you place all the buttons without gluing them down, it gives you the opportunity to re-arrange them as you go.

Once the buttons are arranged to your liking, you can start gluing each of them in place.

The final step is to fill in all the gaps in and around and buttons. Arrange and glue rhinestones until all the blank areas are covered.

Now you can frame your work of art or simply accent it with decorative ribbon or fabric.
