Candy Corn Door Hanger
This candy corn door hanger is a simple project that anyone can make. Including the kids! Change it up for any special occasion or holiday just by using different paper, colors, and words.
- rectangle piece of cardboard (12" x 18")
- black construction paper (enough to cover one side of cardboard)
- various pieces of colored paper
- white ink pad (or while acrylic paint)
- Elmer's glue
- stamp (or wine bottle cork)
- decorative ribbon (long enough to hang cardboard)
Print and cut out stencils from the candy corn templates. There are 3 separate sections (pieces) for each candy corn.
Outline your candy corn stencils onto the backs of your colored paper. Cut out all nine pieces (3 for the large candy corn and 6 for the two smaller candy corn) making each section a different pattern.
Glue black construction paper onto the cardboard to fully cover it. This will be the background for the candy corn display.
Using your stamp and white ink, randomly cover the black background with polka dots.
Once the background dots are dry (you can use a hair dryer to accelerate the process), you can start to glue on the candy corn pieces. Position the two smaller candy corn in such a way that the sides of the large candy corn overlaps them slightly.
Add a festive message or word to the large candy corn. You can do this by either gluing on letters cut from black construction paper or simply writing it on with a black marker.
For hanging, secure a length of decorative ribbon by gluing the ends to the back of each top corner of the cardboard.
