Crochet Chignon Cover
Materials:
1 ball of crochet thread
Crochet hook - No. 1 / 0
(or size to obtain guage below)
8 inches of round elastic
Guage: 3 rounds = 1-1/4 inches
Starting at center, ch 6. Join with sl st to form a ring.
1st rnd: Ch 3, make 15 dc in ring. Join to top of ch 3.
2nd rnd: Ch 4, (dc in next dc, ch 1) 15 times. Join last ch 1 to 3rd ch of ch-4 - 16 sps.
3rd rnd: Sl st in first sp, ch 4, in same sp make dc, ch 1 and dc; sc in next sp, * in next sp make (dc, ch 1) 3 times and dc - open shell made; sc in next sp. Repeat from * around, ending with dc in first sp used at beg of rnd, ch 1 to complete first shell. Join to 3rd ch of ch-4.
4th rnd: Ch 1, sc in center sp of first shell, * ch 8, sc in center sp of next shell. Repeat from * 6 more times; ch 3, d tr in first sc to form last loop - 8 loops.
5th rnd: Ch 1, in loop just formed make sc, ch 5 and sc. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, dc in first sc to form last loop - 16 loops.
6th through 12th rnds: Ch 1, sc in loop just formed, * ch 5, sc in next loop. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, dc in first sc. Tie ends of elastic together to form a ring.
13th rnd: Holding elastic along top of last rnd and working each sc over the elastic, ch 1, 3 sc in loop just formed, 3 sc in each remaining loop around. Join to first sc.
Break off and fasten.
