Free Craft ProjectIrish Crochet TamAhhh, the luck of the Irish. What better way to honor that than create this beautiful Irish crochet tam. 
Materials • yarn (white, green, gold) • crochet hook - size G • yarn needle (or other large eye needle) Instructions Tam Ch 4. Join with sl st to form a ring. Ch 3. Round 1 - 15 dc in ring (16 dc). Round 2 - Ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, repeat from * around. Join with sl st in top of ch-3 (25 dc). Round 3 - Ch 3, * 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, repeat from * around, 2 dc in last sp. Join with sl st in top of ch-3 (39 dc). Round 4 - Ch 3, * 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, repeat from * around, 2 dc in last sp. Join with sl st in top of ch-3 (60 dc). Attach green yarn. Round 5 - Ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, repeat from * around. Join with sl st in top of ch-3 (77 dc). Round 6 - Ch 3, dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc, repeat from * around. Join with sl st in top of ch-3 (88 ch). Attach white yarn. Round 7 - Ch 3, dc in next 7 dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in next 8 dc, 2 dc in next dc, repeat from * around, dc in last 7 dc. Join with sl st in top of ch-3 (97 dc). Round 8 - Ch 3, repeat Round 7 (107 dc). Attach gold yarn. Round 9 - Ch 3, dc in each dc around. Join with sl st in top of ch-3. Attach white yarn. Round 10 - Ch 3, dc in next 7 dc, dc 2 tog, * dc in next 8 dc, dc 2 tog, repeat from * around, dc in last 7 dc. Join with sl st in top of ch-3. Round 11 - Ch 3, dc in next 6 dc, dc 2 tog, * dc in next 7 dc, dc 2 tog, repeat from * around, dc in last 5 dc. Join with sl st in top of ch-3. Attach green yarn. Round 12 - Ch 3, turn, dc in next 4 dc, dc 2 tog, * dc in 5 dc, dc 2 tog, repeat from * around, dc in last 3 dc. Join with sl st in top of ch-3. Round 13 - Ch 3, dc in next 3 dc, dc 2 tog, * dc in next 4 dc, dc 2 tog, repeat from * around, dc in last 2 dc. Join with sl st in top of ch-3. Round 14 - Ch 1, sc in each dc around. Join with sl st in starting ch-1. Fasten off. Weave in all loose ends. Shamrock Make 1 shamrock and sew it to the tam. Pompom Wrap all three colors around a 4 inch piece of cardboard 60 times. Slide the yarn off and tie around the middle. Cut all loops and attach the pompom to the center top of the tam. |
