Heart Crochet Pin Cushion
This crochet heart pin cushion is about as pretty as you can get. They're very simple to make and the perfect way to use up that leftover yarn. Plus, they make great gifts for friends and family members.
Materials
- regular weight yarn (pink, white, violet)
- polyfill
- crochet hook - size G
- crochet hook - size F
- yarn needle
Instructions
With size F crochet hook, chain 4. In the first chain (3 trc, 3 dc, ch 1, 1 trc, ch 1, 3 dc, 3 trc, ch 2, sl st.
Round 1 - Ch 3. Sc and hdc in first trc. 3 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, sc in next 4 sts, ch 1, dc in trc, ch 1, sc in next 4 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 3 hdc in next st, hdc and sc in next st, ch 3, sl st in start.
Round 2 - Ch 3, sc in top of ch 3 from starting ch-3 of previous round. 2 sc in next st, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st. Sc in next 8 sts. Sc in dc, ch 1, sc in next 8 sts. 2 sc in next st, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st. Ch 3, sl st in start.
Using size G crochet hook, repeat the instructions with white yarn.
Edging - Join Violet yarn in ending sl st of white heart. Sc in sl st. Skip 1st ch, 5 dc in next ch, skip next ch, sc in next st, (skip next st, 5 dc in next st, skip next st, sc in next st) 7 times. Skip next st, 5 dc in next ch. Sl st in starting sl st. Fasten off.
Finishing
Place the pink heart over the white heart.
Sew the pink heart on in such a way that it bunches up slightly, allowing the outside row of the white heart to be visible.
Leave enough of an opening to loosely stuff the pink heart with polyfill.
Then finish sewing around the pink heart to close the opening.
