This crochet basket can be used for any occasion and to hold a variety of items, from Easter eggs to keepsakes and everything in between. They're very easy to make and you can leave them plain or decorate with ribbons, flowers, and other accessories.

Measurement (at top edge of basket) = 4" wide by 2-1/2" tall

Materials

regular weight yarn
crochet hook - size G

Instructions

Chain 5, join with sl st to form a ring.

Round 1 - Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), work 13 dc in ring, join in 3rd ch of starting ch-3 (14 dc)

Round 2 - Ch 3, dc in joining st, * 2 dc in next dc, repeat from * around, join with sl st in 3rd ch of starting ch-3 (28 dc)

Round 3 - Ch 3. Keeping last loop of each st on hook work 2 dc in joining st, yo and draw through all loops on hook (starting cluster made). *Ch 2, skip next dc, keeping last loop of each st on hook work 3 dc in next st, yo and draw through all loops on hook (cluster made). Repeat from * around. End with ch 2, skip next 2 dc, join with sl st in top of starting cluster (14 clusters)

Round 4 - Sl st in next ch-2 space. Ch 1, sc in same sp, * ch 3, sc in next ch-2 sp. Repeat from * around. End with ch 1, dc in first sc.

Round 5 - Sl st in next ch-3 space. Ch 3, keeping last loop of each st on hook work 2 dc in same space, yo and draw through all loops on hook (starting cluster). * Ch 2, 3 dc cluster in next loop. Repeat from * around. End with ch 2, join with sl st in top of starting cluster.

Round 6 - Repeat Round 4.

Round 7 - Ch 5, dc in sc (at base of ch-5), sl st in next loop, * ch 5, dc in same space. Repeat from * around. Join with last sl st in base of starting ch-5 (14 loops).

Handle - Ch 30, join with sl st on opposite site. Turn. *Ch 3, skip next 2 ch, sl st in next chain. Repeat from * across chain. Ch 3. Join with sl st at start of ch-30.

Weave in loose ends and fasten off.
