HOW-TO INSTRUCTIONS

Stained Glass Assembly

First, draw a pattern. Using carbon paper, transfer the pattern onto a piece of oaktag (poster board). Cut out each of the individual segments (shapes).

Using a crayon or grease pencil, trace one of the shapes onto the corresponding color of glass. Cut the glass. Repeat the process with all the other shapes.

Wrap each piece of glass in lead came (which can be easily cut with ordinary scissors). Remember, the "H" channel is used where two pieces of glass come together; the "U" channel is placed around the outer edge.

Brush flux onto each of the joints and then solder them all.

Tip: Use modeling clay to hold the pieces of glass in place while you're soldering.
